Artist's Description
The Sun sets over Lake Durant in Hamilton County New York, just west of Indian Lake, the moose capital of the North East. Lake Durant is part of the Adirondack Preserve, and is a developed campground run by the New York State Department of Conservation. The Mountains clouds and trees of the Preserve stand reflected in the clear crisp waters of the lake, surrounding cat tails beside the swimming hole.
About Joshua House
Joshua House has been described as a photographer, a conservationist, a historian, and an adventurer. Having traveled and worked extensively across the country he is currently concentrating his photographic work in Eastern Texas, centered on Houston. His past creative work has included research, writing, and photography for the Lincoln Home National Historic Site in Illinois, Homestead National Monument of America in Nebraska, and Dinosaur National Monument in Utah and Colorado. As a conservationist he has worked with the US Army Corps of Engineers, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and the National Park Service.
